    not smart ,its only a matter of time before the hill erodes ,and your pulling water from a lake thats merky,and making it more merky at the return ,in other words you will always have a merky mess.

    Thanks for the nice comments. The pump pulls 180 gallons per minute. Not sure how many gallons the pond holds, but it is appx 40′ long by 20′ wide by 3′ deep.
