Winter Killed my Pond Fish

7 Feb

The freezing temperatures over the past week caused my big pond to freeze over for eight days. This resulted in the death of 2 large fish. Additionally, my barrel of 12 baby fish also froze solid, so those fish have also presumable died – rest in peace. Every year fish die over the Winter – it’s an inevitable part of keeping fish outdoors. Subscribe to my main channel: http://www.youtube.com Thanks for watching!

Dude!! How could you leave them (the barrel fish) out there in the open! I have a barrel pond which I moved to the patio as it’s sheltered under a roof as well as being partially enclosed next to the house. It formed a layer of ice last night as it snowed in London but never froze.

If you have a barrel pond then move it next to the house, maybe even into the house or some kind of shelter as it will freeze in the winter.

    Peace ;-P

Those fish shouldn’t have died if the pond was deep enough. It is NOT inevitable of fish dying every winter outdoors- do you think someone would buy a 2000 dollar fish just to have it die in the winter?

are you sure they’re dead? i heard that fish can live in suspended animation inside ice. maybe they’re still alive under there?

also, yes, it’s fine to wear a shirt more than once before you wash it.

    No, really?!
Seriously, I know. I just wanted to spread some naive hope. I guess it’s wrong to do so.
So, I’m sorry for being (apparently) inappropriate. That was not my intention.
